*诺贝尔生理学或医学奖*

 

瑞典斯德哥尔摩当地时间7日，瑞典卡罗琳医学院宣布将2019年诺贝尔生理学或医学奖（The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine）授予美国科学家威廉·凯林、格雷格·塞门扎以及英国科学家彼得·拉特克利夫。瑞典卡罗琳医学院宣布：“威廉·凯林、彼得·拉特克利夫以及格雷格·塞门扎因发现细胞感知和适应氧气浓度变化的机制而共同夺得2019年度诺贝尔生理学或医学奖。” 三位科学家解释了生命中最重要的氧气适应过程的机制，为我们了解氧气水平如何影响细胞代谢和生理功能奠定了基础。氧感知能力是治疗许多疾病的关键。三位获奖者的发现对生理学起到了本质作用，也为抗击贫血、癌症和许多其他疾病的新策略铺平了道路。

 

*诺贝尔化学奖*

 

瑞典当地时间10月9日，瑞典皇家科学院宣布2019年诺贝尔化学奖（The Nobel Prize in Chemistry）授予约翰·B·古迪纳夫，M·斯坦利·威廷汉和吉野彰，以表彰他们开发锂离子电池的贡献。瑞典皇家科学院这样评价道：他们的研究为无线和无化石燃料社会的到来创造了合适条件，为人类带来巨大福祉。

 

*诺贝尔物理学奖*

 

瑞典斯德哥尔摩当地时间8日中午，瑞典皇家科学院将2019年诺贝尔物理学奖（The Nobel Prize in Physics）一半授予詹姆斯·皮布尔斯，另一半授予米歇尔·马约尔和迪迪埃·奎洛兹，以表彰他们在宇宙学和地外行星相关领域的研究贡献。总计900万瑞典克朗的2019年诺贝尔物理学奖奖金一半授予詹姆斯·皮布尔斯，以表彰其物理宇宙学的理论发现；另一半授予米歇尔·马约尔和迪迪埃·奎洛兹，以表彰他们对于一颗围绕太阳型恒星运行的系外行星的发现。詹姆斯·皮布尔斯对物理宇宙学的见识丰富了整个研究领域，并为过去五十年来从推测到科学的宇宙学转变奠定了基础。

除此之外，还有波兰作家奥尔加·托卡尔丘克、奥地利作家彼得·汉德克获得诺贝尔文学奖。

The prize has been awarded jointly to William G. Kaelin Jr, Sir Peter J. Ratcliffe and Gregg L. Semenza "for their discoveries of how cells sense and adapt to oxygen availability," said the Nobel assembly at the Karolinska Institute. The three scientists have identified molecular machinery that regulates the activity of genes in response to varying levels of oxygen. Oxygen sensing is central to a large number of diseases. The discoveries made by this year's laureates have fundamental importance for physiology and have paved the way for promising new strategies to fight anemia, cancer and many other diseases.

The 2019 Nobel Prize in Chemistry are awarded to John Goodenough, Stanley Whittingham and Akira Yoshino “for the development of lithium-ion batteries”. Through their work, they have created the right conditions for a wireless and fossil fuel-free society, and so brought the greatest benefit to humankind.

The 2019 Nobel Prize in Physics, 9 million Swedish krona (about 1 million U.S. dollars), has been awarded with one half to James Peebles "for theoretical discoveries in physical cosmology" and the other half jointly to Michel Mayor and Didier Queloz "for the discovery of an exoplanet orbiting a solar-type star".James Peebles' insights into physical cosmology have enriched the entire field of research and laid a foundation for the transformation of cosmology over the last 50 years, from speculation to science.
